Growing up in Baltimore, MD, Chip began his career as a Maryland firefighter and first responder.  He later served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, where he specialized as an anesthesia tech and combat medic with the U.S. Marine Corps.  In 1986, Chip served on M-MART-14, a Presidential Surgical Team, during which he earned a commendation and recognition by the White House (during Ronald Reagan’s presidency) for Special Operations.

In the late 1980's, Chip's professional experiences were formed as a national marketing director for NSA, where he recruited, trained, and managed an international sales force of distributors.  During his time with that company, Chip was responsible for helping build a successful training company, providing thousands of individuals with invaluable human relations training.  Chip was interviewed by Barbara Walters and John Stossal on ABC News 20/20 for his work with this company.

Chip spent more than a decade working in the wholesale lending industry with WMC Mortgage, and then eight years with First Franklin Financial, where he consistently ranked as a top producer.  During his tenure with these companies, he was responsible for business development, outside sales, and the funding of over a billion dollars in mortgage loans.  Chip was also the Co-Founder of National Equity Exchange, an Internet based reverse auction engine providing a platform for mortgage professionals to post private money loan requests, which actively encouraged private investor bidding.  As the author and patent pending holder of the Nat-Ex reverse auction business method, Chip's creation provided consumers with fair market priced mortgages nationwide.

In 2006, Chip served as President of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB).  He also maintains memberships in the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, as well as the California Mortgage Association. During this time, Chip made two trips to Washington DC and three to Sacramento, CA to lobby on behalf of the mortgage broker industry. Chip was instrumental in starting the Northern Central Coast Chapter of CAMB and lobbied extensively to define “predatory lending” laws. In addition, Chip has worked as an expert witness and consulted with Government agencies on mortgage industry related cases.

Chip is an “Extreme Sport” enthusiast and an avid paraglider pilot, having competed in the U.S. National Championships as well as Rat Race, both annual cross country paragliding competitions.

Chip lives in Camarillo, CA with his wife of 14 years, Buffy, and their daughters Morgan and Emily.
